Beijing, China (December 7, 2007) -- Perfect World Co., Ltd. (NASDAQ: PWRD) ("Perfect World" or the "Company"), a leading online game developer and operator in China, today announced that "Legend of Martial Arts," the Company's light-hearted adventure game, was successfully launched in Taiwan on November 28, 2007 by Soft-World International Corp. (TSEC: 5478) ("Soft-World"), one of Taiwan's major online game operators. This marks the second online game that the Company has licensed to an operator in Taiwan. At Soft-World's press conference, executives of Soft-World and celebrities Mr. Wu Chun of Fahrenheit, one of Asia's most famous "pop" groups, and Ms. Genie Chuo, introduced the game to the media. The Game's unique customized features, traditional Chinese theme, unique weapon design, cartoonized images, and interactive social networking left an unforgettable impression on the celebrities during the closed beta testing and played a vital role in convincing Soft-World of the potential of "Legend of Martial Arts" in Taiwan. Perfect World believes that the self-developed "Legend of Martial Arts" will provide an entirely new experience to Taiwan's online game players. "We believe that 'Legend of Martial Arts' will be a great success in the Taiwan gaming market and we are very happy to be working with Perfect World on this project," said Mr. Chin-Po Wang, Chairman of Soft-World. "The first licensing agreement we entered with Perfect World was for 'Perfect World II,' which saw a record 80,000 peak concurrent users. The successful performance convinced us to introduce 'Legend of Martial Arts' to the Taiwan market. During the closed beta testing period for 'Legend of Martial Arts' in October 2007, the average concurrent users reached nearly 20,000, and we are very confident that 'Legend of Martial Arts' will become a success for us and for Perfect World in Taiwan after the launch of open beta testing." "As 'Legend of Martial Arts' is our first self-developed light-hearted online game, I am pleased that it has been able to attract so much interest in Taiwan, and we are even more pleased to partner with such a reputable game operator as Soft-World." commented Mr. Michael Chi, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Perfect World. "The game has drawn a very strong following since its initial introduction in China. We believe that the joint efforts of Soft-world and Perfect World will provide a similarly unique 3D gaming experience to players in Taiwan and will become another successful milestone in our overseas licensing activities."
